A TimberTech deck in Weathered Oak, wrapping the cottage on Acton Island with a bridge across to the bunkie.
The Project
A full deck rebuild on Acton Island, finished in TimberTech composite from the Terrain+ Collection in Weathered Oak with black aluminum railings. The deck wraps the cottage on multiple sides, and a separate front porch serves the bunkie, connected to the main deck by a bridge.
The Challenge
Wrapping a deck around a cottage means constant changes of direction, and every one of them is a chance for board lines to drift. With this many corners and transitions, the layout had to be planned so the lines stayed true from one face of the cottage to the next.
The Solution
Careful layout and mitred transitions keep the board lines running clean through every change of direction. The bunkie porch and connecting bridge were built to the same standard, so the whole path from bunkie to main deck reads as one continuous build.
