Martin is an experienced carpenter who originally began his career in fine cabinetry. After many years spent honing his craft, the pull of Ontario’s beautiful lake country finally won out. Swapping his workshop for the great outdoors, Martin now applies his exquisite craftsmanship to unique deck and dock projects. He loves being able to work by the water near his home in Muskoka, combining functionality with aesthetics to enhance lakeside cottages in his local community.
Martin is hugely influenced by Muskoka’s majestic landscape and sources natural materials from local suppliers wherever possible. He loves the challenge posed by this unique terrain – navigating elevation changes, rugged bedrock, winter weather conditions, and local building regulations to deliver decks and docks that blend seamlessly with their surroundings.
“I lead the entire process from start to finish – everything from planning the design to procuring materials, handling the engineering, and securing necessary permits. At the end, I take a final walkthrough with clients to ensure they’re 100% happy with the results.”
